Dear Vudes and Tus,
I was hanging out with my buddies last Saturday and we were lounging in my backyard. Another one of my friends came over and had no where to sit. I, being the perfect host that I am, gave him my Barca Lounger. I went to get myself a chair from the Mincha hall and dragged it into my spot in the “Circle of Safe Adults” (thats's what we call our friend group). I turned around to backpedal the rest of the way there and saw that my chair had dug a trench in the ground. What do I do?
Sincerely,
BarcaBaller17
Dear BarcaBaller17,
Happy to help out. You obviously didn't intend to dig the trench, so that is not what we call a Malechet Machshevet. The act of dragging the chair across the grass is known as a D'var She'Ayno Mitkaven. Since you did not do the action with the intent to dig the trench, you don't have to worry. Dragging a chair across a field is something that will dig a ditch sometimes, but do nothing other times. That is why it falls into this category.
Have Fun!
Vudes and Tus
